Five months from today I will walk down the aisle and officially become Mrs. Sparks.
It seems like it was only last week when Steven got down on one knee and asked me to marry him in front of a crowd of people at the Alabama Theatre, but in reality it has been nearly a year since that night. So much has happened in the past year that it's hard for me to wrap my head around it all. From getting engaged to buying out first home together, it has been a year to remember.
It amazes me to look back and see how much can happen in year's time.
A year an a half ago my mom and I traveled to New York for a long weekend of shopping and celebrating my college graduation. After a long day of shopping mom and I made a stop at the hotel bar before heading up to our room and getting ready for dinner. While sitting at the bar we overheard another mother and daughter duo talking to the bartender about their trip. They were in town wedding dress shopping for the daughter's upcoming wedding. I will never forget turning to my mom and saying "one day that will be us."
I never could have imagined that exactly one year to the day we would be back in New York; this time shopping for my wedding dress.
Steven and I dated for six months when he asked me to marry him, but I knew from our first few dates that he was the one. And although Steven and I have been together for less than two years now, it feels like he has been here my whole life.
If all of this can happen in a year, I can't wait to see what 2014 has in store for us.
I have a feeling it's going to be just as exciting...
This is so sweet =)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it crazy how you really do just know? Zack and I felt the same way, his best friend told me after just a couple weeks of us dating he told him he found the woman he was going to marry. So crazy! I hope the following year has more amazing things in store for both of you.
I cant wait til my day comes where I meet my knight and shining armor and know without a shadow of a doubt that someone is my future husband. :D I cant wait and I always wonder have I seen him, have we spoke, have we crossed paths some how. I know you're gonna be beautiful and it's gonna be a special day. I cant wait to see pics and all.

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. How sweet! Y'all make a great couple! I always love reading love stories, and yours is beautiful. Congrats future Mrs. Sparks (what an awesome last name too!).
ReplyDeleteVery sweet & how exciting! :)
ReplyDelete*sigh* I miss those days..enjoy EVERY moment. (and when I say every moment I don't actually mean every moment, that moment when your florist is late and your pastor is lost 30 minutes before the ceremony? yeah..you can forget that moment.;)) but seriously, take in everything when you walk down the aisle. Take time to look at the flowers, your guests..and when you finally say "I do" take time to remember that exact moment. The first kiss as a married couple. The weather. The sky. The way you felt.. those moments will be forever precious to me! Even in the darkest days of marriage those moments will keep your love alive.
ReplyDeletewoohoo getting so close!! I am still in awe of how adorable your proposal is!!!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!! I've been engaged a little over a year myself. It's so crazy to think that much time has already gone by. Congrats! and Enjoy wedding planning!
