Welcome Changes

1.17.2014

We made it to Friday! You know, the day of the week that I usually talk about "making through eight more hours of work before the weekend begins." Today, however, that is not the case. Today I am still sitting on the couch in my pajamas, drinking my second cup of coffee, and catching up with my good friends on Good Morning America. Today I am not working.

Beginning this week I have cut my hours back at work to 32 hours per week. Meaning, I am now working Monday - Thursday instead of a full week. I still hold the same role (Marketing & Communication Coordinator) and do the same daily tasks at work. The only thing that changes is that I will only being doing these tasks for 32 hours each week as opposed to the standard 40.

Yes, this change has caused Steven and I to re-work our budget so we are spending less and still saving the same amount of money each month, but other than that this change is a blessing. As you are well aware, our wedding is quickly approaching. That means that my weeks are now filled with appointments, fittings, viewings, meetings, and so forth. Working a full time job and planning a wedding is tough work. This "day off" each week will grant me the time to be available for all of these appointments without having to take time off work.

I also have other things planned for the eight extra hours I know have each week. Plans for the blog, plans to work on our house, and plans to do work on my passion. In the end, this I am grateful. This probably isn't a permeant arrangement, but for now, it works and I am so very happy about it.

Today I'm excited to introduce to you a Tori from A Little Leigh Way. I love reading Tori's blog everyday and look forward to her tips and advice that she posts about such as items to swap for a healthy alternative and how to accessorize for success in 2014.
Hi! I’m Tori & I blog over at A Little Leigh Way! I’m a fan of nail polish, video games and honesty. A Little Leigh Way strives to inspire creativity and sass in ladies everywhere.

When and why did you start blogging?
I started blogging in July of 2013 because I was looking for a new outlet and hobby. I jokingly say I was going through a quarter life crisis, but it’s kind of true, and starting a blog was a lot less expensive than moving across the country for a change.

How did you come up with the name of your blog?
My middle name is Leigh, and I don’t get to use it often so I wanted to work it into my blog name. My boyfriend, Spencer, actually came up with “A Little Leigh Way” and once I saw it was available I jumped on it!

What can people expect when they visit your blog?
Collages, puppy photos, lists & some good Netflix recommendations.

Did you make any New Years resolutions this year? If so, what were they?
I did! I plan to do a lot more working out and budgeting this year!

Be sure to visit Tori at A Little Leigh Way
