Oh, hey. Is this thing on? Sorry for the lack of internet presence for the past several days. You see, as much as I daydream about being a stay at home dog-mom, I actually have a real 8-5 corporate job, and that job has been keeping me quite busy as of late. My office moved locations over the weekend, so last week and this week have been pretty hectic getting ready for the move and then getting everything organized at the new office.
It's no secret to anyone that I'm not a cookie cutter corporate working girl. I don't own (and never will) a business suit, and I think leggings and boots are perfectly acceptable office wear. Furthermore, I think that office spaces should be decorated bright and cheerful. So when I saw my drab and boring new office cube last week, I knew I had to do something about that and fast. Over the weekend I called in my interior designer for backup (thanks, mom!), and turned that boring, florescent cube into the most adorable little work station I ever did see. Does it scream corporate professional? Probably not. But I work in social media and marketing, so I can get away with a little fun in my work area.
Now for the before and after pictures:

This laptop mat is one of my favorite things in my new space. Can you keep a secret? It's not a real laptop mat. It's actually a kitchen rug that I found at Target. It works perfectly for a laptop mat though!
This chair was actually one of my dining room chairs. Steven and I recently upgraded to a more formal dining room set, and I couldn't bare to get rid of these chairs. I'm so glad I held on to them because this one made the perfect accent chair!
Pretty cute, right? So please excuse the sporadic posting throughout the rest of the week. I promise to resume all regularly scheduled programs next week.

THE cutest. I miss having a cubicle because I did similar things, like decorate unconventionally. Everyone always commented on how cheery it was. It makes the day a little more fun...love it!

ReplyDeleteAhhhh!!!!! Your office is so darn cute!!! I have done nothing with mine since I started over a year and a half ago other than bring in a pink tin with hears for my pens. You are making my space look so lame right now!

ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! I need to steal some ideas from you or better yet, come decorate my little cube.
ReplyDeleteCan I just say I am OBSESSED with your cubicle!! I work in a cube as well and it is so dreary and depressing, guess I should just hire you :) I also believe leggings and boots are work attire, not suits!
