1. Catch up on all your favorite shows. I'm talking the ones that he really hates to watch. In my case that would include The Bachelor, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, 19 Kids And Counting, and Sex and the City. You know, the classics.
2. Eat all the food that he doesn't like. These would be the foods that my husband likes to classify as "girly." Basically if it doesn't include meat, it's considered girly and not a real meal. Also, go ahead and finish off the bag of Starburst jellybeans while you're at it!
3. Sleep on his side of the bed. Or better yet, sleep sideways and take up both sides of the bed. Who knew that I could successfully take up both sides of our king size bed? I know the dogs enjoyed spreading out as well.
4. Sleep with the heat turned up high and the ceiling fan turned off. Savor the few nights that you are able to sleep without a comforter, blanket, and long sleeves because your hot nature husband is out of town.
5. Take a really long bubble bath. The ones that you normally can't take because you bought a house that only has one bathroom. When the husband is home I'm usually safe to sneak off for a 30 minute bubble bath, but a minute longer and I'm liable to be interrupted by my husband banging on the door telling me he has to use the bathroom.
6. Call your girlfriends over for an impromptu wine night. By night number three you are probably starting to get lonely, so what better way to end a few days home alone than inviting your best gal pals over for a night of wine and juicy gossip?!
Of course, once you've marked these off your list you will most likely be more than ready for your husband to return home to you. I know I sure was! Even with the two dogs under my feet at all times, the house still felt very quiet and lonely without him. I have to say though, I did appreciate watching The Bachelor live this week! Other than that, living alone wasn't as fun as I remembered it being back in my single days. I missed my husband!

Oh gosh, this sounds like me when my husband returned to the US shortly after our wedding.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, this post is perfect timing for me! My boyfriend left this morning for a work trip for a week, and I was wondering what I should do to keep busy. I can definitely see myself doing some/all of these in the next few days. Great list!
ReplyDeleteI do all these, except I sleep with the AC cranked up and all my fans on! I love to be cold when I sleep. Haha. I especially love eating all the foods that he doesn't like!
ReplyDeleteWhen mine is out of town, I binge watch all my girly shows!
ReplyDeletehaha- I always watch all the trashy shows and make BLTs- he hates tomatoes so we never eat them but they are my favorite!! And of course, sleep sideways on the bed and let the dog sleep with me :)
ReplyDeleteI am always the one out of town for work, but this list sounds perfect. Maybe I will kick him out for a few days just to go thorough these things ;)
ReplyDeleteHow funny that y'alls sleeping routines are different. Thankfully, Ross and I both like the house as cold as possible. We also have two fans on every night! :) Soak up those warm nights while he's outta town girlfriend!
ReplyDeleteChris hates hate hates the Kardashians and I always try to sneak in episodes if he is out after work or downstairs for a long time. If he catches me he always makes fun of me and asks why I am watching that garbage haha!
ReplyDeleteI love this!! My husband is out of town right now too.. I also make food he dose not like and catch up on my junk TV!! I love it
ReplyDeleteWhen mine is out of town, my go to's consist of- cereal for dinner, long bubble baths & spa nights and stupid reality shows he always has some kind of comment on ;) When I'm gone, he finds a new show on Netflix & binge watches haha
ReplyDeleteI love girls wine nights or watching the Bachelor/ette when D is out of town. And sleeping sideways in the bed is the best! Love this list!
ReplyDeleteI definitely do these things when the fiance is traveling for work! He doesn't really like sushi, so I order out every time he's gone :)
ReplyDeleteMy fiancé is away for work 3 nights a week and I have a hard time finding stuff to do on the third night haha! It's nice to be on my own once in a while but I wish is was home more :)
ReplyDeletehaha this is super cute and all of those ideas are perfect! :)
ReplyDeleteyes, yes and yes! I'll be doing all of these...also on the list...paint a wall!

ReplyDeleteI love this! I definitely do quite a few of these when my boyfriend is away.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like all guys need the fan on like 24/7. My boyfriend had the fan on this past weekend and I was dressed in layers lol. By the way, I nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award.

Love this!! I have the hardest time going to sleep when the hubby is away!!! It's just helping me build my case that I need a puppy to help take care of me on those nights :)
ReplyDeleteThough I adore my husband,
ReplyDeleteI really don't mind my "me" nights.
Until it's time to sleep, than I am a nervous wreck. Anxiety attacks got me thinking burglars are coming STRAIGHT for me :)
My husband and I just celebrated our first wedding anniversary this weekend and I am STILL getting used to sleeping with TWO fans going!!
