Bumpdate || Week 29

How far along: 29 weeks!

Due Date: November 7, 2015

Baby is the size of: an acorn squash. She is around 17 inches long and weighing in at almost 3 lbs. She is starting to pack on the pounds this week as she develops white fat deposits under her skin. This is also making her energy surge, and mama can feel it with all those kicks!

Symptoms: Just normal pregnancy aches and SPD, which is worse in the mornings and starts to disappear a bit once I get up and moving. I also noticed swelling in my feet and ankles last night for the first time.

Also to note, I failed my one hour glucose screening last week. I have to go back tomorrow morning for the dreaded three hour test. I only failed by a few points, but I'm still pretty nervous about the outcome of the three hour test. Pray I pass so I don't have to deal with a diagnoses of gestational diabetes during the last two months of this pregnancy.

Gender: Our sweet baby GIRL!

Name: Charlie Elizabeth

Movement: Lots of it! Her movements are definitely getting more intense. My favorite thing to do these days is sit back in the recliner with my shirt pulled up while watching her have little dance parties in my belly. It's hard to tell how she is sitting, but if I had to guess I would say she is laying transverse across my stomach. When she gets going I can feel her often on both sides of my stomach at the same time.

Nursery: Big things are happening in here! My mother-in-law painted the airmore and delivered it to our house on Sunday. The changing table/dresser was also delivered on Monday, so that means all the big pieces of furniture are in the room! Yay! You can see her nursery inspiration here

Labor Signs: I removed the Maternity Clothes category this week and replaced it with this one because from here on out, chances are high that what I'm wearing is maternity. That being said, let's pray the answer remains NONE in this new category for several more weeks.

Sleep: I'm still sleeping pretty good, which I know isn't the case for everyone during the third trimester. I'll wake up to turn from one side to the other throughout the night, but other than that I'm not missing out on much sleep. Rarely do I ever have to get up during the night for a potty break, which I also know is rare during the third trimester.

Best moment this week: Getting all the big furniture pieces set up in the nursery. Now we get to start on the fun part, decorating!

Missing anything: Sweets! I've been instructed by my doctor to follow a low carb, low sugar, high protein diet until I receive the results of my three hour glucose test later this week, so I've really been watching what I eat this week.

Cravings/Aversions: Nothing really sounds good these days (besides sweets!). I drive my husband crazy when trying to make dinner plans because I can't decide on anything! I was enjoying a big bowl of cereal in the mornings and sometimes after work before I was told by my doctor to avoid high carb foods and sugars. Now It's all I can do to stomach the thought of lean meats and vegetables.

Mood: I'm in full mommy-preparedness mode these days. The nesting has kicked in, and I'm constantly thinking of small projects to add to the to-do-before-baby-arrives list. As exhausted as I am some days, I come home and just start working on small tasks that need to be completed.

Looking forward to: My baby shower in a few weeks! I'm so thankful for the sweetest group of ladies who are hosting this shower for Charlie Beth and me.

Husband is: Working hard on getting projects done around the house before Charlie Beth's arrival!

New mommy question: Nothing new this week.

  2. Love it! I also failed my 1 hour test... But 6 points! So I'm going in on Friday for my 3 hour one. I failed by like 15 points with Abe, and passed the 3 hour one, so hopefully this goes the same!

  4. You look so amazing in this color! Good luck with the glucose test...believe it or not, my doctor had me go in this morning for the three hour test as well (thinking I may have developed it later in pregnancy even though I passed the one hour test) so we were in agony together :)

  7. Do you like fish & other seafood? I know you're supposed to not eat a ton of it, but I've found I can stomach fish and shrimp a lot better than grilled meats. Also salads have been easier than cooked veggies. Another yummy swap is spaghetti squash for pasta. Just some thoughts!! But hopefully you pass the next glucose test so you don't have to worry about it :)
