Five on Friday

9.27.2013

Hello beautiful Friday! I’ve been waiting on you to make your appearance since Monday morning, and I’m pretty positive I’m not the only one. Today, I’m linking up today with some fabulous ladies for Five on Friday. So let’s just get right to it, shall we?

One.
The Ole Miss v. Alabama game this weekend. I graduated from Alabama last year and my younger brother is currently a junior at Ole Miss. For years we have traveled to either Oxford or Tuscaloosa to attend this game. This year, the game is being played in Tuscaloosa, so Saturday morning we are packing up and heading over to tailgate the day away. My brother is driving over from Oxford to meet us there, and even my grandmother is making the trip down. I’m not sure she really knows the tailgating treat she's in for, but she’s a trooper and will without a doubt enjoy herself.
Two.
My Birthday is right around the corner. This weekend is the last weekend of September, which means my October birthday is quickly approaching! If you aren’t aware, I’m kind of seriously obsessed with my birthday. I’m not really sure why I love my birthday so much, but it’s always been my favorite holiday. Did that sound a little vain? Sorry I’m not really sorry. I really like my birthday, ok?!
Anyway, the fiancé is treating me to an NFL Monday night football game for my birthday. I’m a huge NY Jets fan, but living in the south, the Jets don’t exactly play many games around here. You can imagine my freak out moment when I looked at the schedule to find that they are playing the Falcons, in Atlanta, on Monday night, during my birthday week. I obviously had to go.  So the fiancé bought us tickets and room in Atlanta for the night. Happy birthday to me!
Three.
Bridesmaid dress shopping tonight for this hippie bride. She was my model last month when picking out dresses for my bridesmaids, so tonight I’m returning the favor for her. I mean, I even wore a bra today. Just for her. If that doesn’t scream true friend, I don’t know what does. I’m also very thankful that she has style and won’t be putting me in a heinous dress. Thanks, friend.
Four.
Hosting a cookout for one of my oldest and closest friends to celebrate a new chapter in her life.  I can’t believe that my best friend is about to be a wife and mommy. I feel like we should still be spending our weekends together at cheerleading competitions; when did we grow up?! I can’t wait until her little munckin gets here! Of course aunt Moe already bought his/her first present of many to come from me. I can’t help it. I’m already in love!
Five.
Spending the next two weekends at home with the fiancé (besides that day trip over to Title Town Tuscaloosa tomorrow). It probably doesn’t sound like much, but we have spent every weekend since before Labor Day traveling somewhere. I’m looking forward to sleeping in on Sunday in my own bed for the first time since we moved in. Yep, you read that right. I haven’t had a lazy Sunday in our new home since we moved in. Not that this weekend will be any different because I’ll be preparing for our cookout, but that’s perfectly fine with me. I love our crazy, busy, beautiful life.
Happy weekend!

  5. I'm so excited for your birthday and more so that you get to do something that you love for it (the game). But I can't help but tell you that I'm jealous that you are tailgating this weekend. I'm going to miss the game this weekend because my Grandmother's funeral is Saturday but I will be checking the score.. Have fun and Roll Tide Roll!
