A few weeks ago my loving husband agreed to let me interview him for the blog. He was a great sport about the whole thing, and had a few pretty interesting comments. What was the best thing he said? Well, it had to be his snarky little comment about my favorite pair of boots, my red fringe cowboy boots.
I knew that he wasn't particularly a fan of the red boots, but his quick response on the question "What is your least favorite thing that I own?" confirmed how much that boy despises those red fringe boots. He hates them, obviously.
I received the infamous boots a couple of years ago for a Christmas present. I found them one day while out shopping with my mom and let her know that they would make a fabulous Christmas present. She heard me loud and clear because that Christmas I opened the beautiful red suede boots. They quickly jumped to my "most favorite shoes" category, and I wore (and still wear) them constantly. They are still my favorite thing to wear on Gameday, and they surprisingly work with many outfits.
In just under two years I have managed to wear the boots so much that I have worn holes into the bottom of the soles. Steven smirked when I whined to him about the holes, thinking that I had no other choice but to throw them away. Unfortunately for him, it wasn't anything that couldn't be repaired.
It's probably obvious to most why my husband hates the boots so much. They are pretty loud and incredibly obnoxious, but that isn't even the biggest reason why he hates them so much. You see, every time I wear the boots, without failure, I fall. I'm pretty clumsy regardless, but for some reason I always manage to fall when I have those boots on. At first I thought they were just slick on the bottom, but no amount of "scuffing them up" does any good. Grass, concrete, gravel, nothing is safe when my boots and I are around. I've ruined more than one pair of leggings from those things, and my knees now resemble that of an eight year old little boy. Nevertheless, I can't quit the boots. I love them too much.
The boots have taken a back seat this summer (suede boots aren't exactly practical in this Alabama heat and humidity), but now that football season is back, the boots are also back in action. Sorry honey, I (now) know how much you despise my favorite boots, but I just can't give them up. I love them. They are loud and obnoxious and fabulous, and they are all mine!

My husband came up with the name. He came up with about 10 different ideas and I picked the one I liked best.
What was the best vacation you have ever taken and why?
Our honeymoon! We went to Venice and Greece. I loved being able to experience different countries and cultures with my husband.
What is your cocktail of choice?
I’m a wine person. I like most Rieslings and my favorite wine is Conundrum (we drank this wine on our first date!).
