If there was one theme on this blog for 2015 it would without a doubt be pregnancy. Even before announcing that we were expecting baby Sparks I wrote about our desire to start a family. When I look back through this past year on the blog, the posts that stand out most are the ones that center around my pregnancy. I thought it would be fun to do a little 2015 recap and share my favorite posts of 2015.
I still adore this room as much today as I did the day I revealed it on the blog. Charlie Beth's room was a labor of love, and I love nothing more than spending time in there with my girl. She has yet to use her room to actually sleep in (and probably won't for a few more months), but we still spend a lot of time in there nursing, changing, and playing.
From the day I found out I was pregnant, Steven and I greatly anticipated finding out the gender of our baby. From day one Steven knew we were having a baby girl, but I continued to go back and forth on my guess. At 16 weeks pregnant we had an ultrasound that revealed we were in fact having a precious baby girl! We found out the news at a gender reveal party with our family and friends.
3. Her Name
Before we even knew that baby Sparks was a girl, we already had her name picked out. I adore names that have a special meaning behind them, and our girl's name is very near and dear to my heart. I am so proud that my baby girl gets to carry on her great grandfather's name. She never met my Granddaddy, but I know he is watching over her from heaven.
The post that I had waited ten very long months to share. It took Steven and I a little longer than we anticipated to get pregnant, but she was worth every bit of that wait. When we finally got pregnant I wanted to shout the news from the rooftop then and there, but we made the decision to wait until I was 10 weeks to share the news. On our first wedding anniversary Steven and I posted a picture on Instagram sharing the joyful news that we were expecting a baby to be due in November. The very next day I shared our news on the blog. It is still one of my very favorite posts I've ever published.
The very best day of my life. It still brings me to tears when I think about the first time I saw my daughter. The doctor placed her on my chest and it was love at first site. She is everything I had ever dreamed of and more. Her birth day is my absolute favorite day, and I am so glad that I found time between feedings and newborn snuggles to sit down and write her birth story.
What a year you've had!!!
