Oh, hey! It's been awhile. Other than popping in for the occasional Charlie Beth update, it's been a long time since I've actually sat down to write. I didn't intend to take a "maternity leave" from the blog, but then Charlie Beth was born and the newborn snuggles became more important than coming to this space every day. However, we're starting to fall into a bit of a routine now and I'm anxious to get back to blogging. I honestly haven't so much as read a blog post since Charlie Beth was born, so I've got a lot of catching up to do! I feel like there is so much that I have missed while on "blog maternity leave."
For us, things have been very busy! Life with our sweet baby is everything and more that I ever imagined it to be. I say it all the time, but I truly can't believe how fast Charlie Beth is growing. It seems like I was just waddling around with my gigantic belly in tow, and now my baby is already over three months old. I've been doing my best to savor every single second of this precious time.
Adjusting to life with a baby isn't the only thing that we've been up to lately. Just as things began to settle down Steven and I decided to throw another curve ball our way. Last week we listed our house for sale. That's right, we're moving!
The minute we brought Charlie Beth home was the minute that we outgrew our house. We are in desperate need for more space. Steven and I purchased this house about two and a half years ago just as the neighborhood was beginning to take off. We love this house and we love the location. We are in the heart of historic Birmingham. We're minutes from downtown and only seconds from local breweries and restaurants. As much as we have loved living here, we decided it was time to sale. After all, there is only so long you can live in a home with only one bathroom...
As you can tell, things aren't slowing down around here anytime soon! We are hopeful that our house will sell quickly so we can pack up the baby, two dogs, and all our belongings and move our family to the suburbs. In the meantime, I'm excited to get back to blogging regularly and catching up on some of the things I've missed out on.
