Christmas Shopping

12.18.2013

So I decided yesterday that I should probably go ahead and start my Christmas shopping. Yes, I said start my shopping. Technically I purchased three items about a month ago online, but other than that I hadn't even thought about Christmas shopping until yesterday. Our pretty little Christmas tree has been decorated for a few weeks now, but it wasn't until last night that she finally had some presents wrapped and placed underneath her.
Apparently the month of December has just gotten away from me because I truly believed that I still had plenty of time to get all my shopping done. That was until I realized that I will be leaving to go out of town early Friday morning to visit family and wouldn't be back until Monday night. That leaves Christmas eve to finish up last minute wrapping and then Christmas day will be here. What?! Someone please tell me where this month has gone?

So, as you can imagine, the minute I realized all this I put my ass in gear and headed to that dreaded, horrible place known as the mall. I was able to mark a few key items off my list last night. That leaves a list of things I need to get done today after work and then I believe that I will be done with my Christmas shopping. It only (hopefully) will have taken me two days to buy and wrap everything. Not too bad if I do say so myself. Now, if only I hadn't have been Ms. Procrastination I could have probably knocked this shopping stuff out weeks ago and avoided the ridiculousness that is holiday traffic.

I hope you all jumped on this Christmas shopping train quicker than I did because believe me, the mall a week before Christmas is a dangerous and scary place to be. Two words for next year: Online Shopping.

Merry Christmas!

  3. Rob and I don't have a tree up and even though we said we would wait to "do Christmas" until the holidays are over since our lease is up in Feb and we have a lot of expenses with me not really working and going back to school in Jan, I know he's going to get me something.. I have NO idea what to get him nor do I have the interest in going shopping. Can we say "Holiday Hermit"? UGH!

  4. My husband and I were at The Summit last Saturday doing some shopping. After two stores we had enough and had to go to Blackwell's to grab a beer! Good luck with completing your list tonight!

  5. Oh my gosh girl you are so funny! I just can't be around too many people at the mall at the same time! More power to you! One of my gfs still hasn't started either, so don't feel bad!

  6. Online shopping is the only way to go! I think today a lot of retailers are participating in free shipping - and guaranteed before Christmas Day.

  8. I hear ya on time slipping away... Where has December gone? I did some online shopping too, but now have to send my husband out to do most of our shopping while I work on the craft Christmas projects. I'm such a procrastinator! Ugh!

  9. I have to get my shopping early, those crowds stress me out. Forget trying to find a parking spot. Glad you got a lot of it done and hopefully will be done soon! The wrapping looks great!
