Mr. & Mrs. Lazy Pants

1.06.2014

It's Monday, it's really cold outside, and it's the first full work week since the holidays. Gross. I do hope, however, that everyone had a wonderful weekend. Steven and I spent our weekend being as lazy as we possibly could. I could count on one hand the amount of times we left our house, and I didn't put on a bra or makeup the entire weekend. It was something we definitely needed after so much holiday traveling.

Friday night the newlyweds came over for a (belated) Christmas gift exchange and game night. It was no secret that we are all exactly alike, but our Christmas gifts to each other definitely proved that point. The girls exchanged pretty much the exact same gift (a scarf and jewelry) and the guys exchanged the same gift (a hoodie). I mean seriously, what are the chances of that happening?! After our gift exchanged we spent the rest of the night playing spades, and the girls kicked the guys ass (per the usual).

Saturday Steven and I spent the majority of the day in our comfy clothes. We did get adventurous and go out for a delicious breakfast, but then we came home and watched Netflix the majority of the afternoon. After eleven million episodes of our latest obsession, The Glades, we decided to once again brave the outside world and went to a movie. We saw American Horror and it was pretty fantastic. Jennifer Lawrence was amazing, as usual. Actually, the whole cast was pretty amazing. After the movie we hurried back into our cave (otherwise known as our house) and watched more Netflix. We live such an exciting and adventurous life sometimes.

Sunday was more of the same, Netflix until our eyeballs were on the brink of explosion. I did manage to leave the cave for hot minute though to go to Wal-Mart. Big mistake. You see, here in Alabama if the "S" word (snow) is mentioned as even a slight possibility people go bat shit crazy. Everyone and their mother were at Wal-Mart stocking up on bread and milk for the great snow-pocloclipse of 2014 (spoiler alert - it didn't snow last night). Also, I never understood why people run for the bread and milk when they think they are going to be snowed in. You can keep your bread and milk, I'll be stocking up on beer and pizza.

It may not seem like our weekend was very productive, but believe me, gluing our eyeballs to the television for not one, but two whole seasons of The Glades was no small task. It took a great bit of time and effort on our part. Now, if I can just have as much patience getting through work this week as I did sitting in front of the tv all weekend..

Stay warm!

  7. I love lazy days...and I really wish I was having one right now! As if I didn't get enough of it this weekend.

haha- and I just had that conversation with my coworkers today...when it snows, booze is the necessary thing to purchase. I barely even drink milk!!

  8. Aww The Glades! I don't want to burst any bubbles, but... A&E cancelled it! I have been pretty upset about this since October when I found out. I do love Longmire though so they better not be cancelling that anytime soon!
