Mondays Aren't So Bad When New Cars Are Involved

5.13.2014

Steven and I have been talking about getting me a new car for several months now. The plan has always been to wait until the end of this year to start looking for cars to purchase. In the meantime, however, my Lexi (what? Not everyone has a name for their car?!) has decided to be a bit of a troublemaker. It wasn't her fault, really. We have been taking advantage of her for the past couple of years by driving her all around the country southeast and adding up quite a bit of mileage on her dainty little frame. The mileage wasn't her only problem, however. She needed new front tires, new brakes and brake pads, new spark plugs, and he list goes on. So we had two options,  invest a good bit of money into her or trade her in for a newer model.

This weekend we started seriously talking about trading her in for something new. We needed an SUV, and now was as good of a time as any to make the purchase. After looking at cars online yesterday, we went to the dealership to see a few in person and take them out for a test drive. We actually had no plans to purchase a car last night.

I found a few SUVs that I really liked, but one in particular stuck out to me. We took it for a test drive and I was sold! I loved everything about it right down to the color. After the test drive, we went inside to talk to the salesman, the husband worked his magic, and before I knew it I was walking out of there with a brand new set of keys! I'm so excited that we decided to take the plunge last night and buy this beauty. Now, I just have to think of the perfect name for her...

Allow me to introduce you to my new 2014 Ford Explorer:
