This past Friday Steven and I packed up the car and headed South to meet my parents and brother in Orange Beach, Alabama. Steven had to work for a little while on Friday, so we finally arrived at the beach just in time to meet the family for dinner at Lulu's.
Saturday morning the boys woke up bright and early for a deep fishing trip. My mom and I, on the other hand, lounged around on the balcony of the condo drinking coffee and listening to the waves crash onto the beach. After a little coffee and a lot of relaxation, we poured a couple of mimosas, changed into our bathing suits, and headed down the beach for a few hours.
The boys joined us that afternoon after their fishing trip for a few last hours on the beach before heading upstairs to get ready for dinner and a night out.
Saturday night we had reservations at a new restaurant in Orange Beach called Fisher's. This place has been getting rave reviews all summer long, so we were quick to make reservations as soon as we planned our trip.
Let me just tell you, this was one of the best meals I've had in a really long time. Everything from the atmosphere to the service and everything in between was nothing short of perfection. We enjoyed our amazing meal while overlooking the bay at sunset. It was spectacular.
After dinner the husband, brother, and I ventured over to the FloraBama for a few hours of fun. Needless to say, we were exhausted by the time Sunday morning came around. We fit an abundance of fun into our short 48 hour vacation, but it was well worth it.
I've always cherished the beach trips that my family takes every year. In fact, my mom and I spent a good portion of Saturday afternoon reminiscing about years of family beach trips over a couple of bushwhackers. The stories we told could have continued for days! I'm so excited for Steven and I to join in on the family beach trips and traditions and to make our own family traditions over the years. In fact, Steven and I started planning our next beach trip before we even got home from this trip on Sunday night.
Beautiful pics! I need to make my way up to the panhandle area, the beaches there are gorgeous! Glad you got to enjoy those 48 hours :)

ReplyDeleteOh man, what I would give for a 48 hour holiday right now! Actually, an eternal holiday, fully paid for by someone else would be killer...
