It's hard to believe that Steven and I have been married almost six months. It seems like our perfect day was just yesterday. I guess what they say is true, time really does fly when you're having fun! I have loved recapping all of the details of our big day, and I can't believe that this is my very last wedding recap! If you missed any of the previous wedding day posts, links can be found at the bottom of this post.

--------------------------------------

As I mentioned before, Steven and I didn't do a first look. It was by the request of my husband that we stick to tradition and not see each other before the ceremony. We took individual pictures before the ceremony, but all of the pictures that included the two of us were taken after the ceremony while our guests were enjoying cocktail hour.
My groom was exceptionally handsome and nervous on our wedding day. Although we didn't see each other before exchanging vows, we did communicate throughout the day via text messages. We also had hand written notes prepared for each other along with a little wedding day gift. My groom gifted me Kate Spade MRS. earrings and I gifted him Tennessee cuff links to wear with his suit.

Immediately after the ceremony we took pictures with our wedding party and then with our families. After those pictures were complete, we finally got to have a few minutes alone taking pictures of just the two of us.
I was definitely hesitant about waiting until after the ceremony to take pictures. I wasn't sure that we would have enough time to take the amount of pictures that I wanted, and I was afraid their would be too many distractions around us. In the end, however, none of that mattered. We had plenty of time and got more pictures than I expected. Even better, we had time alone together after the ceremony. Time to soak it all in, together. Time to hold each other and kiss as husband and wife before entering the party that was our reception. It was the right call.
Our entire wedding day was such a magical experience for both, Steven and I. We were surrounded by so much love and support from our family and friends. From seeing Steven's face for the first time as I walked with my dad down the aisle, to dancing the night away with all of our friends, it was everything and more that I could have dreamed of. I love this man with everything I have, and I'm so proud to call myself his wife.
And then they lived happily ever after....

  6. That's the exact same photo schedule that my husband and I did for our wedding. I remember being at the side of the building getting pictures of me done, and seeing someone in an Army uniform, freaking out thinking it was my husband. I didn't want him to see me before the ceremony! Turns out it was our friend that had just gotten back from basic. haha, oops, freaked out for nothing! You look gorgeous in that dress, and I love the veil!

  9. We were the same way - wanted to stick with traditions and not do a first look. I wanted to save that for the aisle!

  11. Beautiful photos! Neither of us wanted to have a first look, but ended up having to choose between a first look or an earlier (and hotter) ceremony. We had terrible weather on our wedding day, so the first look helped calm me down and focus on what really matter-getting married. I am always a little jealous of people who didn't have one because I think seeing one another for the first time during your ceremony is so special!
