In case you missed the news over the weekend...
We have a sweet baby girl on the way! Steven and I are both beside ourselves with excitement. Steven had a strong feeling all along that we were having a baby girl, but as you know through my bumpdates I was pretty unsure. It's amazing how in the blink of an eye she went from "the baby" to a little person with her very own identity. Since Friday night we have been calling her by her name and telling the dogs all about their baby sister. It brings a smile to my face every time I think about her!
Anyway, back to the party. Friday night we gathered at my parents house to do a small gender reveal with family and friends. We went back and forth on how we wanted to do the reveal, but in the end decided on popping a balloon to see what color confetti flew out. We could hardly wait for everyone to arrive Friday night so we could pop the balloon and see if our sweet baby was a boy or a girl.
My mom went to the ultrasound with us Thursday morning to find out the sex of baby, and she kept it a secret all to herself for a day and half! She said it was the hardest secret to keep from all of us, but I think she secretly enjoyed being the only one to know for a bit. So Friday she was in charge of filling the balloon with the proper color confetti and blowing it up.
As soon as our guests arrived on Friday night we gathered in my parents kitchen to pop the secret balloon. We had a few very special guests who couldn't be there because they lived out of town, so we made sure to facetime them for the special moment. Everyone started a countdown...
Three!
Two!
One!
It's a GIRL!!
Pure excitement filled the room! I immediately started jumping up and down and jumped straight into the arms of my husband (Check out the video below). I am so excited to start buying and decorating for my sweet baby girl. In fact, Steven and I may have already done a bit of shopping for her over the weekend. I couldn't resist! Our sweet baby girl already has a name, and I am so excited to share it with everyone. I'll be revealing her name later this week, so make sure you tune in! In the meantime, you can watch our gender reveal video below. Such a happy moment!

ReplyDeleteI am so excited to see another person having a baby girl! The shopping is so fun! The day after I found out I was having a girl my sister filled up a VAN full of stuff from her little girl who was born around the exact same time last year (talk about luck!) and we all spent the entire day going through baby girl clothes and talking about them growing up as best friends. I might have been a tad nervous to have a girl when I found out but within a few hours I was just thrilled! I am so excited for you!
