Wedding Wednesday

4.24.2013

On Wednesdays we wear pink talk about weddings.

Yep! This is how I got proposed to. He's a keeper!

I just found out that New York Wedding Fashion Week is this week. Meaning, by my arrival in New York next month all of the spring 2014 gowns will have made their appearance, and I will have a whole new crop of wedding dresses to look at. Excited much?

I have actually gotten quite a bit of planning done so far to be nearly a year out from the actual wedding day.

Wedding Planner. Check!
I have chosen Christopher Confero as my wedding coordinator. He is pretty much a genius. I was sold the minute he said "On your big day I will have everything planned out in 30 minute increments. You will never know and your guests will never know, but every minute of the day will be on a schedule." DONE. The frazzled type-A chick inside me pretty much died and went to heaven right then and there.  If that isn't enough, this guy does the most amazing flower arrangements ever!

Venue. Check!
We are getting married at the most gorgeous venue right outside of my hometown, The Oaks. It's a large southern plantation complete with a 1830's home, a little white chapel, a barn and a conservatory. Breathtaking. The pictures really don't do this place justice. I never imagined that I would actually get married inside of a chapel (the fiancé and I are both godly people, but the church I grew up in met inside of a middle school cafeteria. That doesn't exactly scream class and romance.), but this little white southern chapel is beautiful. Now that I've seen the venue, I can't imagine saying "I do" anywhere else but there.

Dress.
The dress is the next thing on my list. In less than one month from today I will be standing foot in Kleinfields in New York City searching for my wedding dress. Freak out moment. In just a few short weeks my mother, grandmother, and Maid of Honor, Rachael (check her out over at Lobster Lovefest) will be boarding a plane heading to find my dress in New York. Words can't even describe how excited I am right now.
To answer you question, No - I will not be on Say Yes To The Dress. I thought about applying for the show, but I figured as soon as they pick me to be on it I would have one of those horrific experiences where I look fat in everything I put on and leave a sobbing mess. I would rather find my fame using another outlet.

Is this really real life? Am I really planning my very own wedding? Sometimes it still feels like a dream.

If you haven't done so already, be sure and check out our wedding website and leave us some love in the guest book!
