I Could be a Bridezilla When it Comes to Photographers

7.24.2013

Good news...
We hired our wedding photographer!

Wes and Tera from Armosa studios will be playing one of the most important roles in our wedding, taking the pictures that will preserve the memories of the most important day in our life. No easy task; especially when it comes to take the pictures at my wedding.

You see, this is one of the areas I am most picky about. I have a vision in my head of exactly what I would like my wedding pictures to look like. I've tried to explain that vision to other people, but most of the time that conversation ends with the "this is one crazy bitch" face staring straight into my eyes. Apparently I am difficult to deal with when it comes to this subject.

After shooting down photographer after photographer I finally connected with Tera. A few email exchanges and I already knew that she was the one I wanted to have shooting my pictures at my wedding. One skype meeting later, and it was a done deal. This girl literally took the words out of my mouth. She knew exactly what I meant when I said "no harsh lighting" and "soft photos." She also shared my hatred of too many posed photos. Ain't nobody got time for that. And if you are looking at the screen with a "this is one crazy bitch" face, just check out there work here to understand what I mean when I said "soft photos."

In order to really get an understanding of my style, Wes and Tera will do a photo shoot for us to use for our Save The Dates. I'm very excited about my idea behind those photos. It's so hard to keep it a secret, but I'm dead set on keeping those a surprise! I guess you will just have to wait until October for the big reveal..

Now on to the next thing on the wedding "to-do" list:
Bridesmaid dresses?
Caterer?
Makeup and hair artist?
Wedding cake?
Flowers?

Oh, the list just goes on and on...

  3. I have heard that the most underrated things about weddings is the photographer. So many people have told me that was the best money they spent on their wedding, because it will be cherished forever and they'll have them a life time. Kudos for you for knowing exactly what you want and stopping at nothing to get it!

  5. You want what you want. After all it's your DAY. You're the bride. That's why everyone will come to see you and want you happy. and sorry but those pics were bad. You want better pics than that. By far. I'm not a professional photographer but love taking photo's and those were just blah. yuck. and the blurriness. Um I dont think so

  6. Girl, we speak the same language! I was SO picky about our photographer! It was especially hard since we're planning while we live in Chicago for a Columbus wedding. The phone calls were so important to get to know the people and get a sense if I liked them or not let alone their style! I'm SO happy with our choice, too. I completely agree about minimal posed photos and having a softer look to them. I feel like our photographers would be friends lol!

Oh and I interviewed about 17 or so over the phone or email. Yes, I'm crazy.

    Thanks for linking up!

  9. Oh man...the photographer was such a big deal to me. My finance actually found ours (thankfully because I now love him too) and I am so glad that we have that out of the way. I wanted someone good but not too expensive who would capture our vision and took some incredible pictures. And we found that (finally!)

Oh and I am the crazy bride who booked her photographer a good 18 months in advance of her wedding. Yep. 18. You aren't that crazy, are you?

Thanks so much for linking up!!
