Sometimes Stress Makes Me Irritable...

7.30.2013

Do you know what's a huge pain in my ass at the moment?
Transferring the utilities from my apartment to the new house.

Within the past couple of days I have talked over the phone with countless customer service representatives, all which have been little to no help whatsoever.

I need to transfer my cable services. My cable provider doesn't provide service at the new address. Now I need to decide what cable service we want to use or if we want to go satellite.

I need to transfer electric services. My current service is still in my mom's name. Therefore, she has to contact the power company and cancel the service. Then I have to call and start a new service. Oh, and when I tried to start a new service they needed to know detailed things like "is the meter easily accessible?" How the hell do I know? That wasn't on my list of things to pay attention to when I was deciding if this would be my future home or not.

I need to turn on the gas service. I've never leaved in a house which used gas, so I don't even know where to begin on this task.

I need to turn on water service. This isn't as much of a pain in the ass as it is just irritating. The water service in Birmingham is ridiculously over priced. It makes me cringe just thinking about how much our water bill will be.

I need to fill out a change of address form at the post office. This is just irritating because it's one more thing that I'm going to have to add to the to-do list.

I'm also fairly positive I am forgetting a billion and one other things that I need to do before we move on Saturday.

I can do this. I can do this. I can do this.
