Birthday Weekend Shenanigans

10.14.2013

It's once again Monday and on Monday we talk about our weekend birthday celebrations.

I started celebrating my birthday last Monday with a trip to Atlanta to cheer on the Jets as they beat all up on those dirty birds. We started the day off with a Bloody Mary and continued the party from there. Before the game we met up with my (soon-to-be) mother and sister in law who joined us for the game. If you watched last Monday you know that the Jets gave me a very happy birthday present when they beat the Falcons by kicking a game winning field goal in the last few seconds of the game. It was perfect!
I went out of town for work Tuesday (hangover in full force) and when I arrived back in town Wednesday night, I had another birthday surprise waiting on me. I've already told you all about the bedroom makeover that my parents did for me while I was gone, but if you missed it you can read all about it here
Thursday when I arrived back to the office I had the sweetest surprise waiting on me from my co-workers. I didn't go to work on my actual birthday (because it was my birthday and who works on their birthday?!), so they decorated for me a day early. My cubicle was full of dogs and owls.. my two favorite things. So sweet!
Friday, my actual birthday, Steven and I started off the day with margaritas and this beautiful view at the restaurant that we shared our first date at. The weather was amazing, the margaritas were amazing, the company was amazing.
Friday night Steven and I went out to dinner with my parents to celebrate. A few bottles of wine and a delicious dinner later, we called it a night. Maybe I was right about 24 being the age where I officially become old. I'm pretty sure I was asleep before 11:00pm, but I wouldn't have changed anything. It was a perfect birthday!
We planned to continue the birthday celebrating all weekend long, however, I woke up Saturday sick as a dog (sore throat, coughing, the whole nine yards). So instead we spent Saturday ordering a pizza and cuddling up on the couch with the pups. Crazy times over here people. Saturday night I did manage to move from the couch long enough to head over to my parents house to grill out and watch the Bama game. We ended up staying over there and playing Spades with them, and then I woke up Sunday still sick and have yet to move from the couch a whole twenty four hours later.
I hope everyone is enjoying their Monday. I'm off to drown myself in more cough medicine and sleep this mess away.

  6. There wouldn't be a tag identifying where that owl baking pan come from would there?
