It's official - our Save the Dates have been mailed and delivered!
And it's safe to say that I've never been so excited about a piece of paper, or in our case a piece of wood, in my entire life! Yep, you read that right. Our Save the Dates were printed on wood! Oak to be exact.
Save The Dates were designed by Amberly Shelton. She is pure genius and absolutely phenomenal to work with. We sat down with Amberly about a month ago to go over what I had in mind and talk design. I literally had nothing in mind other than I wanted it to be different and spectacular. I would say she not only hit both of those expectations spot on, but she blew them out of the park. The picture that is etched into the wood is my favorite picture from our Engagement session. I'm obsessed with the way she designed the picture to fade out into the text of the card. The words "Save the Date" are written in shape that will play a role throughout the wedding. That is actually the shape that our monogram will be placed in (more on that when the invitations come out).
Other than that, we wanted to keep things simple. The less text the better, so we only incorporated necessities: names, date, venue, wedding website (because that is where the majority of information is located) and "formal invitation to follow."
I never thought this far into wedding planning that my favorite thing would be our Save the Dates, but I just can't get over how amazing they turned out. I've been getting texts/emails/phone calls from friends and family gushing about how much they loved the Save the Dates, and my face simply lights up every time. They are perfect.
Thank you again to Amberly Shelton Paperie for all the work that went into make our Save the Dates perfect.
I can't wait to start work on the invitations!
