Honeymoon {Part Two}

4.24.2014

You can read part one of the honeymoon recap series here.

After a hard sleep on night one of our honeymoon, Steven and I woke up bright and early and were ready to head to the beach. Obviously, however, we made a pit stop for a delicious breakfast overlooking the ocean and maybe a couple of morning cocktails first.
We spent the majority of our days either on the beach underneath a huge tropical tiki style umbrella or at the pool with a swim up bar attached. We literally did nothing but relax and enjoy ourselves the entire trip. We didn't partake in any excursions or even leave the resort the entire trip. It was fabulous!
On night two of our trip, we decided to get dolled up and go downstairs to the Japanese restaurant. This restaurant included some of the most delicious and fresh sushi I have ever tasted along with a make your own stir fry. Steven and I had just sat down with a table full of delicious Japanese food when our server came by with a tray full of drinks (four beers and two tropical style drinks) and accidentally spilled the entire tray into my lap. It was horrible! I was absolutely soaking wet from all the drinks. The poor server felt so terrible that I thought she was about to break down in tears, so of course I played it off and told her that it was no big deal. Thankfully the warm and humid weather of the Caribbean dried my clothes off pretty quickly.

After dinner Steven and I took a long walk around the resort (we had to do something to walk off the massive amount of Japanese food that we had just inhaled), sat at the bar for a little while, and then called it a night. It's amazing how exhausted sitting out in the sun all day can make you!

Day three called for pretty much the same protocol. The only difference was waking up to a delicious honeymoon breakfast in bed. There really isn't a better way to start the day, if I do say so myself. After breakfast it was down to the beach for a while to read, listen to the waves, and possibly take a little catnap. Afterwords it was the pool for the rest of the afternoon. It was amazing and seriously the most relaxing trip I have ever taken in my life!
After a hard day of beach and pool lounging, Steven and I headed back to the room to get ready for dinner. We had reservations to the top restaurant on the resort that night, so we got all fancied up and went back downstairs to start the night. Dinner was once again absolutely fabulous! We had the most amazing server I think I've ever had at a restaurant. He was charming, funny, and so attentive. One of the hardest things to get used to on this vacation was not tipping our servers or bartenders (or paying at all for that matter). Everyone we encountered was so wonderful and we wanted so bad to thank them for their services with a tip, but it's Sandals policy that no tipping is allowed. In fact, we found out that if someone is caught taking a tip from vacationers they could lose their job.
After dinner Steven and I went back to the bar for a few drinks and then went over the the main stage to watch the nightly entertainment of dancers, singers, and the occasional audience involved game. Sandals resorts are a couples only resort, and most people where there celebrating a honeymoon, a milestone anniversary, or a spouse's birthday. It was so wonderful to see how happy and in love everyone was. Steven even joked how I wasn't as "anti-pda" on this trip as I usually am back home! Hey, it was our honeymoon! A little (just a little) pda is allowed!

To be continued...
Stay tuned for part three (the last one I promise)!

  11. I love the comment about "anti-pda." I don't mean to be, but my husband says I am the same way! I think I can't full throw off the years at Christian school where you had to be 6 inches apart! ;-)
