Everyday Grace

2.02.2015

I have a very special treat for you today! Kristen is here to introduce herself and talk a little about her blog and her very busy life. Kristen truly has it all going on. She is planning a wedding with her adorable fiance, practicing law, and taking care of the most adorable little Yorkie I ever did see! If that doesn't have you convinced to read on, just take a look at how stunning her engagement pictures are! Beautiful!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Tell me a little about your blog and how you came up with the name.
I started my blog back in college. I was a journalism major in college and at first it was going to be my senior thesis, but it eventually turned in to my diary, my scrapbook and the one thing where I felt totally safe. I graduated college and matured a bit and so has my blog. It followed my life through law school, bar exams, a big move to Colorado, an engagement and eventually a wedding. My blog used to be called “Wheresoever you go, go with all your heart.” It was the perfect name for the time, because it followed me through life. I recently changed the name to Everyday Grace because without God’s constant grace, life can be a bit hopeless. But with His grace, everyday we, I, can accomplish anything. Everyday Grace is a look into my day-to-day.

What can people expect when they read your blog?
At first glance people can expect recipes, pictures and quotes. What I hope they see is honesty, laughter, joy, love, struggles all with some delicious recipes mixed in there.

Congratulations on your engagement! Tell me about the wedding.
Thanks! Getting engaged to Adam was one of the best moments of my life, more on that later. The wedding is coming up! We are in the double-digit countdown! We’re getting married in Paradise Valley, Arizona, my hometown with 275 of our closest friends and family.
What has been you favorite thing about wedding planning so far?
My favorite part of wedding planning is the extra time I get to spend with my mom. I have dreamt of my wedding day forever... yes I was that girl. Getting to do all this with my mom makes everything so much sweeter. Picking out my dress, the cake, the flowers, the wine and the venue would have been nothing if it wasn’t with her. I feel very lucky to be doing all this with her.

Spill the beans on your fiance! Where did you two meet? How did he propose? We need details!
Oh, Adam. He’s the absolute best, yes I’m biased, but I think once you meet him, you’d agree. We met our very first year in law school. He showed up at a Halloween party I was having and the rest is history. We’ve been through three years of law school, multiple bar exams, a big move to Colorado and lots of other fun bumps along the road. Adam proposed the weekend of my birthday last summer. We were getting ready to visit my college roommate and right before we left, in our apartment, he got down on one knee and asked to spend the rest of our lives together. There he kneeled with the ring, and I kept asking if he was joking! After coming to my senses, I of course, said yes! We headed up the mountain and spent a great weekend with friends celebrating this huge moment in our lives! Little did I know he had already asked my dad and brother for my hand which was so important to me. He thought of every detail and it is a moment I will never forget.

Your dog, Henry, is adorable! Tell me a little bit about him.
Henry, my little gentleman yorkie. I bought Henry about a month after I graduated college. He moved with me to law school and got me through those long 3 years and all the years after. He’s my favorite little man. Even Adam has grown to love him.
How do you like to spend your free time (you know, when you're not planning the wedding of your dreams AND practicing law)?
Life recently, has been very busy. So in my free time, I love to relax with Adam and Henry. We really enjoy cooking together, going out to dinner (and brunch!) with friends and just hanging out on the couch watching Netflix (we’re currently addicted to Sons of Anarchy) and skiing. We go back and forth a lot between Omaha and Phoenix to see our families and love the extra time we get with them. I’m super addicted to Pure Barre and spend a lot of my time there.
What is your favorite quote to live by?
“Be kind, always.”
“Wheresoever you go, go with all your heart.”
