Bumpdate || Week 10

4.20.2015

How far along: 10 weeks

Due Date: November 7, 2015

Baby is the size of: A prune - 1.2 inches long and weighing in at 0.14 ounces.

Symptoms: Same old thing - just extreme fatigue. I've also been experiencing heartburn/acid reflux after meals and breakouts on my face. I can't complain though. I've been blessed with a very easy first trimester!

Gender: I'm still undecided, but all our family and friends seem to be sticking to their original guess. Only 6 more weeks until we know!

Name: We're waiting until after we find out the gender to reveal the name.

Movement: Still too early.

Nursery: We're hoping to start clearing things out of the "man cave" in the coming weeks. We'll start working on the nursery once we find out the gender at the end of May.

Maternity Clothes: I just purchased a dress and top from Pink Blush Maternity. I'm hoping to mix and match regular clothes with maternity clothes for a while.

Sleep: Still heading for bed around 8:00 or 8:30. Whoops!

Best moment this week: Making our big announcement this past Sunday. I was so excited to finally let the secret out!

Missing anything: Nothing to note here.

Cravings/Aversions: I've been craving sweets all day everyday. Old wives tale suggests this means a little girl is coming our way, but I'm not sure. As far as aversions, the thought of hot vegetables makes me want to gag! I'm normally a veggie lover, so this is definitely odd for me. I'm still good with cold veggies, so I've been trying to eat as many salads as possible in order to get my greens in. I'm also thinking I should start adding a green smoothie into my day until I can stomach the thought of vegetables again.

Mood: So very happy! Reading everyone's sweet comments after we made our announcement Sunday made me cry with tears of joy (thanks, hormones!). We are so blessed to have so many people supporting. This baby is already loved by so many!

Looking forward to: My best friend's wedding this weekend! Quick story about my bridesmaid dress: I got the dress in a few days after we found out I was pregnant. Because we were trying to get pregnant months ago when I ordered the dress, I ordered it a size too big. The dress was quite large when I tried it on the first time, but by the time I took it to get altered, I had already noticed a drastic difference in the chest area. Turns out, I grew so quickly in that particular area that the dress fit perfectly there and only had to be taken in from the waist down. I guess it was a good thing I ordered up after all!

Husband is: So supportive. I constantly apologize to him for not cooking dinner, not doing laundry, or not having the house clean, but he just sits back and tells me not to worry about any of it. I have been promising him that my energy should return in a few weeks. I hope that's true!

New mommy question: Pregnancy is doing quite a number on my face. I haven't had breakouts like this in years! I know most acne medication isn't safe to use while pregnant, but I need to do something! Any recommendations for taming these breakouts?

  4. You look beautiful, Morgan!!! Have you ever tried tea tree oil on your face??? It is a natural essential oil and it has really helped with my breakouts in the past. Last time I got a bottle, I got it from Aveeda at The Summit. Just a little on your trouble areas should help you out!

  6. I typed up a big long answer to your question and then I forgot to push post before I left your page :/ It has been one of those mornings. Anyway, I would suggest tea tree oil. I have been breaking out like a man woman since day one of my pregnancy and it has really helped me. If it makes you feel any better, after a few months I finally started to see a pattern in my breakouts. They come with the force every four weeks. So typically the third week of every month I start watching my sweets/greasy food intake and that has really helped. They still come, but they are not as insane.

As for cooking dinner, I would love to say it gets better but for me that hasn't been the case. The positive thing behind it is now Eric really appreciates when I do make it! I made dinner like 5-6 times a week before and now we are down to like 1-2 a week on a good week. Even when I got my energy back after the first trimester there were so many other things I would rather be doing like decorating a nursery!
