Tonight is the night! This evening Steven and I will gather with our family and friends to reveal if little baby Sparks is a boy or a girl. To say I'm excited would be a complete and total understatement!

When we decided to do a gender reveal party, I knew I wanted to do something simple and laid back. The primary goal of this party was to be surrounded by those we love when we find out the sex of our unborn child. So yesterday morning Steven, my mom and I went in for a "sneak peek" ultrasound where the primary focus is to determine the sex of the baby. We got to watch our baby move around on the screen for a few minutes before the ultrasound tech told us to turn our heads so she could get the "potty shot" - the angle that would determine if baby is a girl or a boy. It was incredibly hard not to look up at the screen, but I knew the moment would be even better if we shared the surprise with family and friends. So tonight, an entire day and a half after our ultrasound, we will finally reveal if we are having a son or daughter. My excitement is through the roof!

Before we can reveal the sex of the baby, however, we have to do a few things to plan for the party. Below are three things that should be included in every gender reveal party:

1. Determine how you want to reveal the gender. The options are endless when it comes to reveal your baby's gender, and Pinterest is a great place to look for inspiration. Some people prefer to cut into a cake to see if there is pink or blue on the inside while others go so far as to shoot silly string at each other to find out what color comes out of the can. I don't want to spoil the surprise and share how we are planning to reveal, but I promise to share lots of pictures next week!

2. Decide on a theme or a color scheme. Do you want a specific theme for your party? Or would you rather just stick to pink and blue color scheme? We are doing a laid back gathering, so we are using the theme of a Gender Reveal BabyQ. After all, there is a bun in the oven so we might as well put some burgers on the grill!

4. Provide plenty of food and refreshments for your guests. Our gender reveal party is going to be very laid back, but I still want to do something special for our guests who are taking the time out of their busy weekend to come help us celebrate. We already had the food for the party nailed down, so when I ran across the Coca-Cola 20 oz. personalized bottles the other day at Walmart, I knew they would be the perfect treat to keep our guests refreshed while also putting a personal touch on the party.Walmart has brand new bins at the front of the store that made finding our party guests names a breeze! I wrote down a mental note of our guests list in my head, so I spent a few minutes in Walmart checking over that list and finding everyone's names. Coca-Cola has stepped up the name game this year. The unique names in the bin were endless! I even found a few names that I never imagined I would run across. If you are looking to throw a party this summer, you should definitely check out Walmart for the widest and most organized selection of 20 oz. Coca-Cola bottles out there! Here is a list of Walmart stores where you can find a large quantity of personalized Coca Cola bottles to share with someone this Summer. If your store is not on the list you can still find these bottles at all Walmart locations. Not sure if Coca-Cola produces a bottle with your name on it? You can easily find out by heading to their website here and searching your name.

What are you most looking forward to this summer? Are you hosting a fun summer gathering or planning a big summer vacation? Who do you plan to share a coke with this summer? Share your ideas in the comments below!

  4. Coke definitely stepped up their game this time! My name wasn't available last year, at least not spelled correctly, but this year they added the different spellings. I haven't found it, but my husband looked it up on their website. My name is NEVER on anything personalized haha. Can't wait for tonight!! I'm thinking girl since we've had such similar experiences!
