Baby Sparks #2 Bumpdate || 31 Weeks

1.04.2018

How far along: 31 weeks, 3 days

Due Date: March 5, 2018

Baby is the size of: a head of lettuce. Baby boy is getting pretty close to birth length (and I can feel every bit of it. This baby is already tall like his daddy!). He's weighing in anywhere from 3.5 to 4ish lbs right now. All five of his senses are now fully developed.

Gender: a precious little BOY!!

Symptoms: Exhaustion with a side of back pain. The nesting phase has kicked in and is full force right now. Over the weekend I put together a "honey do list" a mile long for my poor husband. Thankfully he's been here before and knows just what to expect for the next 8ish weeks - lots of projects!

Labor Signs: Lots of Braxton Hicks still. They pretty much never stop. They will space out to 1 ever hour or so and then pick back up to 5 and 6 and hour for a few hours. The other night I was having between 8 and 10 an hour. They weren't at all consistent, so I put my feet up and guzzled down some water for a few hours until they slowed down. I was checked at my appointment last week due to all the contractions, and thankfully I'm not dilating yet. Basically these contractions are doing nothing other than wearing me out.

Weight Gain: up 12 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight

Movement: He's still a very active boy. He's definitely starting to run out of room though. His movements are less sporadic and feel more like rolls as he wiggles around in there.

Cravings/Aversions: I spent an hour cooking dinner the other night only to take two bites and decide I couldn't eat anymore of it. I settled for cereal instead.

Missing anything: Having more to choose from than the 3-4 things that fit. And wine. Don't forget the wine.

Sleep: I'm waking up a few times a night to either use the bathroom or switch positions, but other than that things are still pretty good in the sleep department.

Mood: My husband would probably say that I'm a bit moody these days.

Maternity Clothes: That's the only thing that is fitting over this big belly these days. That and my coats that I can't button. ;)

Nursery: The room is painted, the crib is assembled, and the dresser has been painted. All that's left is the fun part, decorating!

Best moment this week: Potty training Charlie Beth! That's right. My big girl is (pretty much) potty trained! We started over the long New Year's holidays weekend and she caught on so fast. She was having no accidents by day 3 and has been so proud of herself. I'm one proud mama as well! Also, watching my team beat Clemson in the Sugar Bowl. Next stop, National Championship!

Looking forward to: Having this baby in 8 weeks or less!

  1. Cooking and then wanting nothing to do with the food you cook is the worst. I remember one time when I was pregnant with Rory, I made a few batches of peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. I ate one and then the smell and site of them made me gag. I told Jesse to take them to work and get them out of the house. He pretty much does the cooking while I'm pregnant since I'm exhausted and I get nauseous so easily. If only you were given the ability to snap your fingers and the food you want appears when you're pregnant.
