Weekends are for Sleeping

1.13.2014

As you may remember, last week I was having a bit of a sleeping problem (as in I struggled to fall asleep and then stay asleep all week and it was just plain miserable). I'm happy to report that I took full advantage of this weekend and slept as much as humanly possible. It was fantastic! I seriously feel like a whole new person this morning.

Friday night Steven and I had a date night, except not with each other. Steven went to dinner and a movie on his man date and the girls had a pizza and movie night on the couch. It was low key and relaxing - exactly the kind of night that I needed!

Saturday Steven and I woke up, made breakfast (this was a new thing for us), ran some errands, and then took the dogs on a long walk around the park across the street from our house. Thankfully the cold snap that brought temperatures into the single digits last week was long gone by the weekend, so we took full advantage of a sunny and semi-warm day on Saturday.
Saturday night Steven and I had an actual date night (together this time) with another couple. We met at a downtown bar (actually the same bar where Steven and I met) and watch the Patriots vs. Colts game while drinking and catching up with each other.

Sunday Steven left out bright and early to go fishing for the day, so I took advantage of having the house to myself and went on a cleaning spree. It took me several hours to deep clean the living room, dining room, and kitchen, but having a clean house and no dirty laundry last night really made me a happy girl. I spent the evening curled up in my pajamas with a glass of wine in hand and the Golden Globes on tv. The perfect end to a relaxing weekend.
