There Are Better Days Ahead... They Are Called Saturday & Sunday

1.16.2015

I don't think I've ever been more excited to see Friday in my life. I plan on sleeping in tomorrow and spending as long as possible in my pajamas. So while I'm over here daydreaming about the better days ahead (Saturday & Sunday), I have Kristine here to introduce herself and her adorable dog, Bentley!

--------------------------------------------------
Tell me about about your blog and how you came up with the name.My blog is full of conversational posts about life. I write my posts as if I’m chatting with you on the phone, or over a glass of wine on my couch. Whether it is a post about the latest exercise trend I’ve tried, a funny throwback story, awesome party ideas, a great recipe I found on Pinterest (that I have successfully cooked), or a positive quote that I love, you are bound to find some humor and honesty in every post.
We have a boxer, Bentley, who is 75 pounds of love. My husband leaves for work much earlier than I do, so when I wake up in the morning, I’m often greeted by kisses from my boxer who has climbed into bed and curled up beside me! We spend the first two hours of the day together, his head usually perched on my lap, as I enjoy my morning coffee and catch up on TV shows, emails or blog posts. This inspired me to name the blog, Breakfast with Bentley, because it is the best part of my day.

Your dog, Bentley, is a big part of your blog. Tell me more about him!
He is the best thing that has happened to me (besides my husband). We always had dogs growing up, but the responsibility would fall onto my mother's lap. When we found Bentley, we had just moved in together, and it was an eye-opening experience. I have to be responsible for another living creature, besides myself. Bentley is a full bred Boxer, with floppy ears, and a beautiful disposition. He loves to snuggle, to cuddle, to give kisses and high fives. My husband has taught him all the tricks and he is well behaved (most of the time). He constantly makes me smile and laugh because he is so funny. Bentley is full of love and is super loyal to all who are close to him.
Did you do anything exciting over the holidays?
Yes! We hosted a cocktail party for my husband's college friends (Go St. John's!) and I went to Atlantic City with all my girlfriends for a Girls Weekend.
We celebrated Christmas with both of our families, and my husband and I went on a week long cruise for New Years with my parents and brother. It was so nice to get away after a crazy holiday season!

Did you make any New Year's resolutions? If so, what were they?
Just to take care of my body. Read more. Wake up early. Take more hot yoga classes. Make smart eating decisions.

What is your favorite quote?
"It’s never too late to be whoever you want to be...We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re ...not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again" -Fitzgerald

What is your idea of the perfect weekend?
25% down time, 25% time with my husband, going out to dinner, playing with the dog, just hanging, 25% shopping and 25% hanging out with friends! Some weekends have different balances, but that would be the person one!

If you won the lottery, how would you spend the money?
I would give some to charity, I would buy our dream home, take a nice vacation and save! I mean, I would probably do a little bit of shopping… I can't lie. :)
